Am I the only naive website builder in the world who didn't know that, if you put a Facebook widget on your site, it automatically says that you have 46K Likes? And that you can't edit that text to tell the truth?
I had noticed on other sites that there were 46K Likes--and in many cases, I didn' t believe it. I thought it was just a mistake. It never occurred to me that, if you're going to use their bullshit widget, you have to be willing to lie about the number of people who've liked your page. (They call it "bait", by the way). That's the trade-off: if you want a doohickey on your site that connects your readers to Facebook, you give up any pretense at--what's that word? Oh yeah--integrity.
This on the heels of having Facebook censor Wayne Johnston's political post...The clowns are running the circus, not just in politics and business, but the internet too. Not surprised, not at all; just kind of disgusted, and sad.
